Is massage safe for cancer patients?  The answer is almost always "YES" and can actually be very beneficial (http://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/comp_med/types/massage and  https://www.amtamassage.org/articles/1/News/detail/3303?utm_campaign=ClientResource&utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Organic).  The primary care physician must be consulted before receiving the first massage however.

I wanted to share a resource with you that is for anyone in the Twin Cities area diagnosed with cancer.  It is a program that I have been a volunteer with since 2006.  It is Neighbors Caring for Neighbors, offered through the Viriginia Piper Cancer Institute.  This program offers various alternative health therapies (including massage, Reiki, acupuncture) for FREE to the cancer patient.  The cancer patient does not have to be a patient at Virginia Piper--anyone is welcome.

It's an amazing program.  If you know someone that could benefit from this program, please have them call the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute's Neighbors Caring for Neighbors program at 763-236-5607.
